This is from David Camp’s past life at a large advertising agency, where he wrote most of Boeing’s consumer advertising at the time. The campaign shows Boeing’s technical triumphs in areas beyond commercial jetliners; these two examples speak to achievements in software and solar energy. The story is that Boeing is a national technical treasure, bringing the world together through travel while opening the frontiers of space and science. The campaign received the highest readership scores of all advertising in Newsweek and Forbes, and its basic tone remains in place in Boeing advertising today.
